Three Things Finalists Need to Know About the Graduate Jobs Fair

If you’re a finalist or postgraduate, we know this is a busy time for you. Adding extra dates to your diary might be the last thing on your mind. So let’s get to the point. Here are three reasons why you should stick around until the 10 June and put the Graduate Jobs Fair in your diary now.

1. You’ll discover variety

Employers love Nottingham graduates, and your presence brings employers here in droves. Multi-national corporations, local small-to-medium-sized enterprises, and public sector organisations will be here to meet you.

With over 45 stands at this year’s Graduate Jobs Fair, companies from all sorts of sectors will be recruiting to a whole host of roles. Get a feel for the variety on our list of employers by job role offered. There are some familiar names and some employers who are on campus for the first time ever!

2. You’ll learn how to make a winning application

Discovering a job which makes your heart beat a bit faster can be very exciting. However, it might be swiftly followed by the daunting realisation that you need to do a lot to make it your job. You’ll need to put your best foot forward on paper, in an interview, and possibly at an assessment centre, to show recruiters why you’re their best choice.

Sound familiar? Then get on down to the fair, where our expert team of advisers will sit down with you and go through your CV or application form to get you on the ‘yes list’.

3. You’ll get job-hunt ready

Have you got a friend who is irritatingly organised and had their future sorted well before Christmas? We thought so, but don’t worry – it’s not too late, despite what you might think. Many companies recruit all through the year.

When it comes to finding a graduate job, knowledge is power and preparation is key. So it’s time to get job-hunt ready with our expert-led workshops at the fair. They last 20 minutes each and cover finding a graduate job, using LinkedIn, interview technique, CVs and more. You can just turn up on the day.

If you’re graduating in 2019, find out more about the support available to you on our website. In addition to the Graduate Jobs Fair, you may want to sign up to our Jobs by email mailing list.
