Welcoming students from India to Nottingham

The joint University of Nottingham-Nottingham Trent University India Student welcome was successfully held at the Indian Community Centre Association with support from the British India Business Forum on 9 October 2019. This is the third year of this fabulous event. Asia Business Centre is the key University of Nottingham organiser. Over 300 students in total attended from both Universities and were warmly welcomed by the Sheriff of Nottingham, Councillor Patience Ifediora and Councillor Sally Longford, Nottingham City Council. Traditional and modern dances were performed at the event.

Alumni from each University were interviewed about their experiences and how it had shaped the future. Both Ashmita Mangharam (UoN) and Joel Alex (NTU) did fantastic interviews.

The event was covered by BBC Radio and the Sikh Channel.

Overall a great event which demonstrated the importance of students from India to the city of Nottingham and how welcome they are. a really inspiring evening and great to work with local partners at such an important event.
